HOW IT BEGAN:

In mid-July this year, the Lord revealed to Paul, the location and date for HIS next outreach. DROGHEDA (Ireland) on Sunday 26th August. None were surprised at the short notice as this has become the "norm". Over the previous 72 meetings HE rarely gave us more than 5/6 weeks notice regardless of the size of the event.

This time though we were met with pretty consistent opposition, to be expected of course when plundering the kingdom of darkness to win souls for Christ, by the grace and Power of the Holy Spirit. Within days the following began:

Firstly we had difficulty in contacting our usual prayer warriors/intercessors due to sudden serious computer problems; then unusually heavy demands on our time at work (the day jobs that finance the meetings) attempted to distract us from the mission that God had ordained. Many of our usual intercessors apparently didn't respond this time however new intercessors came forward to supplement the remaining remnant.

The hotel when first approached to reserve the venue declared the hotel was fully booked that evening and was definitely not available. However when we tried booking the next day in a team members name instead of the ministry name, we were accepted immediately.

Two colleagues and myself had three separate car accidents on the same morning in three different parts of the city. Thank the Lord there were no injuries.

Two days after vehicle repairs a motorist drove into the back of my car whilst parked at a tollbooth repeating the previous damage.

Next day I was subjected to three severe examples of road rage within a period of thirty minutes. One incident was eerie when an enraged motorist yelled that someone had blown his horn loudly at him when stopped at a red light. No one had made a sound!

All the normally fit team experienced health problems

Paul's car was damaged enroute to investigate the sabotage of our posters.

Problems with the computer resulted in many extra hours of work late into the night. (The engineers practically rebuilt the system yet could find no explanation for the faults that interrupted the design/printing of the outreach posters.)

Paul (evangelist), Nick (music ministry), Maire (our 77 yr. Old intercessor) and myself walked the streets of Drogheda putting up thousands of shop window and in-store, posters.

After obtaining permission from Drogheda Corporation to lift up the Name of Jesus across the town with 30 large billboards, the team did just that. Affixing large posters with only the Name of Jesus, (no evangelist's name) to the boards we set off at night and covered the town at every strategic intersection and along the main streets. Only once before in their history had the corporation given this permission and that was at our last outreach there, 7 years previous. A local Christian church had been forbidden to even put up posters advertising Sunday services despite three years of pleading.

However after putting up the posters on a Friday night a freak, severe storm arose on the Sunday. Monday morning the Lord told Paul, to drive to Drogheda. All the posters were illegible and damaged. At least they had survived Saturday the busy day in town. The team cancelled all plans and that night we repaired every poster so that the end result was better than the first attempt.

Wednesday morning Paul led by the Holy Spirit visited Drogheda, to learn that someone had systematically torn down every single poster and stolen the expensive backboards. Immediately Paul contacted the printers and had Two Hundred posters rushed out the same day. We rang the corporation and got permission to paste lamppost posters. That night the whole team, (7) cancelled individual plans and covered the whole town lifting the Name of Jesus up in nearly TWO HUNDRED places instead of the original 30.

Seven times we had to return (because of errors) to another professional printer who was making rubber stamps to be used in bibles that we gave away free.

The two main newspapers that promised editorials lost or "didn't receive" the PR material,twice. However the main local radio station LM/FM, stepped in with over a half hour of continuous interview.

The station's chief interviewer, Ray Stone said that after their last interview in their tiny 2-room station 7 years ago Paul had prayed for a large, new station for them and that they would prosper for having helped promote the Lord's work. They interviewed us in their new, state-of-the-art premises built on their own grounds AND permitted Paul to lead 180,000 listeners in the repentance prayer after hearing exactly what Jesus had done for every man, woman and child on Earth.

We had a distinguished, Christian visitor from England who contacted us and immediately offered unconditional support and immediate help. Rev. Kim Freeborn, a director for 18 years of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and founder of Passion for Souls International, blessed us with his testimony.

He insisted from the start that he would pay all his own expenses, flights, hotel, car hire etc. etc. so as not to burden our small ministry. We all knew that a powerful meeting was imminent when he recounted his frightening flight from Italy when the plane was tossed about in a severe storm. As it happened ALL hotels in the area were fully booked and he accepted Paul's original invite to stay at his home. This turned out for the good as we all enjoyed wonderful fellowship and a solid friendship was established.


THE DROGHEDA OUTREACH:

Numerous obstacles overcome by the Lord, the day arrived, Sunday 26th August 2001 AD.

Initially we were disappointed at what appeared to be only a small crowd present, fifteen minutes before start time. It was no consolation when a local Christian leader of a small church said that after three years and e15,000 of advertisements only four new people attended his group. "This is a hard town to open up", he said.

However, on the Five Fold's last visit the venue had been crammed with over 500 people and the hotel had run out of chairs.

When a lady advised us of a misprint in a local paper that announced the meeting commencing an hour later we considered delaying the start. But when we surveyed the sick people some of whom had traveled hundreds of miles and of course knowing that God's perfect plan would come into being we went ahead as if the hotel was packed.

The Lord was as usual faithful for despite the slow start this proved to be one of our most powerful, God - ordained meeting ever. Miracles in ABUNDANCE! Over 100 accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

The meeting began with some extra good news just received. A young girl critically injured in an accident earlier in the week had lain in a coma for more than 20 hours and was rushed to a Dublin hospital to undergo brain surgery to remove a massive blood clot. Her father had asked Paul to pray. Within hours she woke from her coma and left hospital within days without need of an operation as the clot was "gone". Praise the Lord. The father, Joe Nolan of Wexford, asked that full details be announced at the meeting.

Paul addressed the then small crowd, reading Isaiah 53, explaining clearly Jesus's sacrifice and that the Blood of Jesus sets them free. As he preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ, people began to be healed even before he had laid hands on them. Then he made one altar call and a wave of almost every person there rushed forward to accept Jesus.

We were surrounded at the front and with all that was happening didn't notice what was happening at the back. As people were healed, delivered and set free they were leaving and being replaced all night by new people including those brought back by now new, baby Christians.

Paul individually led people in the repentance prayer CONTINUOUSLY, from 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm without a break. Spending only minutes with each and sometimes more than one resting in the spirit at a time, we felt that the queue was never-ending especially as when we had first looked there was only about seventy people there. Even when the hall was deserted approaching midnight, a healed, new believer returned with two teen-age children so that they could have this new relationship with Jesus.

The presence of the Lord was powerful, beautiful, all pervading and reduced many to tears. Miracle after miracle was manifested continuously for hours. We estimate at least 95% instantly received miraculous total healing. A very small number received what appeared to be partial healing but we know that the Lord said regarding healing, "they shall recover". HE didn't say when or always instantly.

We had never been able to professionally video these meetings. One amateur attempt in the past was unsatisfactory. You can imagine our delight when Kim Freeborn, the founder of Passion for Souls International and our very welcome guest who helped immensely, informed us he had brought his camcorder and was a dab hand at filming. (Kim's testimony and his experience as a director of Kenneth Copeland Ministries was moving and invaluable). For the first time ever we had someone record the outreach. He filmed only the outreach highlights carefully managing the limited amount of available battery power.

This however included scores of miracles and even a close up record of a TOTALLY BLIND person recovering her eyesight INSTANTLY. Paul had said, "In three seconds after I lay hands on you Jesus is going to heal you perfectly and you will see again". With that he removed her black glasses and said, "In the Name of Jesus be healed". The ladies daughter was overcome with emotion and repeatedly said, "God Bless you(s)". Later we learned that the lady had lost her eyesight in an accident and that the doctors had stated that her condition was inoperable and permanent. Praise the Lord.

Many were healed from crippling diseases as sticks, crutches and walking aids were cast aside. Several times I had to run after folk to return their discarded aids, people who moments earlier had been too terrified to let go of sticks as they now rushed joyously back to their families without help.

Deaf people were healed. Catholic nuns came forward for prayer. Some people were delivered discreetly, so as not to frighten those close by particularly as the majority of the crowd had never been to a prayer meeting or outreach before. Most were not bible readers. The people were the most mannerly, calm crowd we had ever experienced, all waiting patiently, good humouredly for their opportunity to repent whilst listening to anointed music from our three strong music ministry who played tirelessly all night without a break.

The meeting was so holy, so blessed we didn't have the heart to ask for an offering. Kim continued to record scores of men and women, one by one, invite Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Saviour, receiving the free gift of salvation that HE paid for.

I close with the Good News, yet again by the Grace of God the Five Fold Ministry outreach, has been successful. The Grace and Power of the Holy Spirit has again led many lost to the Lord. HIS Grace and Mercy have set the captives free. VICTORY IS THE LORD'S alone. Hallelujah!
