Just back from our U.S.A. trip and our Living God Jesus Christ has instructed us where to go next.
SLIGO in the West of Ireland. September 12th 2004 in the TOWER HOTEL at 7pm.
This time the God-ordained venue is not a church building but a modern, city centre hotel. We have reason to believe that this venue will be PACKED OUT, that there will be an outpouring of God's Holy Spirit upon the crowds, that there will be MIRACLES and HEALINGS at this very meeting and we believe that the Lord will ‘turn this city upside down’. PLEASE COME EARLY. Hotel fire and safety regulations will restrict numbers allowed in.
We may start early if maximum room capacity is achieved earlier in the day. To any Christian Church or any individual wishing to help promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ by helping us, whether it's distributing posters or as ushers, we extend our usual warm welcome.
We would also like to thank the traders of Sligo, who were friendly, helpful and welcoming when we asked them to display the image of Jesus and details of the meeting on their premises. We believe that the Name of Jesus will be a blessing to each business where it is displayed and to the individuals therein.
Thank you also to Sligo County Council, MID-WEST RADIO, and the wonderful staff and management at the TOWER HOTEL.
Unfortunately, not one of the local churches accepted our invitation to help reach the lost, the lonely and the sick with the Good News of the Gospel.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Matthew 9:36-38
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. Matthew 13:57
So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: Acts 28:9
The in-car phone rang as we sped by car from the East coast of Ireland to the West coast, on Sunday September 12th, to hold the outreach in the TOWER Hotel. The Lord had promised us He would turn the City of Sligo, upside down...
Jet-black storm crowds loomed above as the car windshield wipers struggled to cope with the torrential downpour of heavy rain. After weeks of fine weather, an angry outburst of rain and high winds marked the beginning of this, the Five Fold’s eightieth outreach. It crossed our minds that on the night of our last outreach, (in New Hampshire, U.S.A.) the same scenario had also developed.
On-board were Paul the Evangelist and his wife Mary, my wife Maureen and myself, and Arlene our American Evangelist dear friend who had travelled all the way from Hawaii at her own expense, to help the Five Fold Ministry reach the sick, the sad, the lonely and the lost.
The animated voice of the most capable and friendly operations manager of the Tower hotel apprised us on the phone of the situation at the hotel. It was approx. 2.30 pm with the meeting scheduled to begin at 7 pm. Craig the manager informed us that many hundreds of people were already queuing for the meeting. With the storm so bad and many of those waiting either frail or ill, we decided to open the hotel function hall even though our music ministry was still practicing.
At 3pm Craig rang back. FOUR HOURS before the scheduled opening time. The hotel was now at FULL capacity. The Five Fold immediately contacted Mid-West and North-West radio stations by car phone and they broadcast an appeal to the populations of Sligo and surrounding counties to STOP coming! The crowds were causing serious problems with hotel fire and safety regulations and with pedestrian and vehicle traffic congestion around the venue.
Despite this and starting the meeting three hours early, door staff reported approximately six hundred people were turned away that night.
